2026 Spring & Fall Transfer
Next Steps Checklist

You’re on your way to becoming a Pointer!

Below you will find a list of key actions, opening dates and deadlines. Please complete these next steps in a timely manner!

WORK ON NOW

ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT AND EMAIL

Use the UWSP ID # (from your admit letter/email) and your Social Security # to retrieve your UWSP username and activate your email account.

Activating your account does not commit you to enroll at UW-Stevens Point. However, it is an important first step that unlocks access to next steps including housing and dining application, scholarship application and course registration.

If you have any questions while activating your account, contact UWSP Information Technology at 715-346-4357 or help@uwsp.edu.

HOUSING AND DINING

Complete the FREE housing and dining application - no deposit required.

Submitting your application saves your spot in line to choose a room during selection time in June 2026. This does not lock you into enrolling at UWSP.

Review housing options and application instructions.

Eligible to live off campus? Complete the Application for Exception to Housing Requirements.

Questions? Contact Housing at 715-346-3511 or housing@uwsp.edu.

FINANCIAL AID

FAFSA is now open! You can complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Be sure to list UWSP's school code: 003924.

For questions, contact the Office of Financial Aid and Veteran Services at 715-346-4771 or finaid@uwsp.edu.

COMING SOON

POINTCARD AND TEXTBOOKS

After you register for classes, you can submit your PointCard photo here: PointCard Office.

This step should be completed prior to your arrival on campus. Your PointCard will be used to check out your textbooks.

Textbook rental is included in tuition. More information is available through your orientation.

PARKING

Parking permits open up in July.

Watch your UWSP email and the parking website closely in June and July to learn what date you can join the parking permit queue. Students need to be registered for classes in order to be eligible for a permit.

Permits are limited and do typically sell out, so the earlier you join the queue the better chance you have to secure a parking permit.

Visit the UWSP Parking website to learn more.

REMEMBER TO

SCHEDULE A VISIT

There’s no better way to picture your future than by seeing it in person! Visiting UWSP gives you the chance to explore campus, meet future classmates, and get a real feel for student life. Come see why so many students choose to start here and thrive!

JOIN THE FAMILY PORTAL

Many of our students go through the college journey with a strong support system and we are here for them, too! UWSP offers a Family Portal designed to keep parents, guardians, and supporters in the loop on all things Pointer life.

Encourage your crew to join the Family Portal and stay connected every step of the way!

MINNESOTA RESIDENTS ONLY

If you reside in Minnesota and meet residency requirements at a Minnesota public institution, you may be eligible for reciprocity benefits.

The reciprocity application is available beginning in March.

SEND FINAL TRANSCRIPTS

Arrange for final/official college transcripts to be sent to the Office of Admissions and Recruitment at admiss@uwsp.edu. Transcripts must be sent directly from the school to be counted as official.

Students transferring within UW-Stevens Point from the Marshfield or Wausau campuses do not need to request those transcripts as they will automatically be available to our office.

UPDATE YOUR MAJOR

If your interests have changed since you applied, you can update your major online.

Click "Change Intended Major" in the Admission Tile on accesSPoint.
